our unBELIZEable honeymoon - a video.

i made a little video of our time in belize.
this was my first time editing any sort of video
and even though you can still hear some audio
and it looks like we're in an earthquake,
i'm glad we have something like this
to look back on and watch whenever we're feeling nostalgic.

georgetown canal.

michael kors jacket (nordstrom, similar here)/levi's jeans (levi's outlet)/steve madden boots (old, similar here)/j.crew gloves (gift)/sunglasses (myeyedr)

sometimes when it's 55 degrees in january
you just need to drop your original plans,
drive to georgetown,
shop at anthropologie,
grab drinks and appetizers
at a cute little mexican restaurant
and walk along the canal.

am i right
or amirightttt?

when it's 55 degrees in january.

you plan a trip to southeast asia!

you make a pot of gravy
to trick yourself into thinking it's cold out.

you take selfies...

and then take a trip to georgetown
and have bloody mary's cause it's 55 degrees
and it's the weekend!!

you make a delicious breakfast
(my first time having asparagus for breakfast. now obsessed.)

you take your new camera
out for a spin

after having aforementioned gravy,
you get back on the bandwagon
and prep meals for the week...

and then you find this
and laugh hysterically because
it's just so.true.

mr. and mrs. h - getting ready.

i probably got 3 or 4 hours of sleep the night before my wedding.
that's pretty on par with other brides-to-be, right?
a few of my bridesmaids spent the night with me -
we gossiped, reminisced, and stuffed popcorn boxes
until midnight.

luckily the hotel room had two bathrooms
(holla bridal suite!)
so when it was time to get up -
(8am - not too bad!)
we all went our separate ways to freshen up
and then re-emerged at 9am to eat breakfast in the dining room
along with my mom, the rest of the bridal party, and our glam squad!

that morning was perfect.
i was so calm -
maybe a little too calm because
everyone thought i wasn't excited!
they said i was the calmest bride they'd ever seen.
leading up to the big day
everyone told me to
make sure i take a step back and let it all in
because the day goes by way too fast.
and that's exactly what i did.
also, it sort of felt like someone else
in the group was getting married
because i've recently been in so many weddings.
it didn't really hit me until the photographers arrived
and i was in the make-up chair
that this was MY WEDDING DAY!

i love this text exchange with my groom!
guests told me that he was pacing the hotel all morning.
you could say our morning routine was a bit different

i loved seeing this sequence of the gift exchange

thanks for letting me share this special day with you all!

up next, our first look!!

rock the nameplate.

target sweater/urban outfitters shirt (old, similar here)/old navy jeans (old, similar here)/liz claiborne boots (old)/bcbgeneration jacket/j.crew ear warmer (old)/ray-ban sunglasses/target gloves (gifted)

the weather has been crazy.
last week it was 15 degrees and snowing
and then two days later it was 50 degrees and sunny.
i love my seasons
but not when two of them occur within the same week.
i'm over you, "winter".

last week we met up with friends
for dinner and drinks across the street
and i decided to go the comfortable route.
i love these sweaters from target -
(i own two of them)
they are SO soft and perfect for layering.

i also pulled out my vintage nameplate necklace.
you remember these things?
of course you do.
i like to think that i was one of the originals -
ya know, before carrie bradshaw made them big.
she can take credit for the cosmos and manolos,
but not the nameplate necklace.
nope, i won't allow it.

do you have an old piece of jewelry
that you still rock?

mr. and mrs. h - the rehearsal dinner

the day before our wedding felt very surreal.
i spent the morning dropping everything off at the hotel
and helping my parents stuff some of the welcome boxes.
then my MOH and best friend checked in
and we left to get our nails and hair did.
(got my first blowout at the dry bar!)

and then before we knew it
it was time to head back to the hotel,
put on our party dresses,
go downstairs to do the rehearsal with the officiant
and then head off to dinner!

gable boxes {the container store}
custom stickers {etsy}

checked out the cocktail hour/reception space while they were starting to set up!
started to feel very REAL!

our rehearsal dinner was a very special night.
we shared the night with our closest friends and family
who traveled near and far to be a part of our special day.

a few highlights from the night
was a picture slideshow of my husband and me
 that my father-in-law put together
and surprising my husband with a "grooms" cake
(he loves hockey and german chocolate!)

it was such an overwhelming night full of love, laughter, and lots of wine (!),
something i will cherish forever.

grooms cake

brunettes have more fun.

last picture before mr. and mrs.!

and can we just talk about blowouts for a second?
this is how my hair looked on the morning of my wedding....!
it was still perfect after 8 3 hours of sleep
so obviously i had to document it.
i mean - can you say amazing?!
