summer uniform.

summer uniform.

now that it's officially feeling like summer,
i'm starting to pull out all of my pool-side gear.
we have a pool at our complex
and we always find time to hang out there with a good book in hand.

i make sure to never leave home without
a hat, over-sized tote, cute but comfy sandals, sunglasses
and a fun bathing suit - preferably strapless
(can't have any tan lines!)

i'd been waiting for this cover-up from j.crew to go on sale
and i finalllllly snatched it up the other day.
i can't wait to wear it at my bachelorette party next week!
i'm also looking for some fun new bathing suits.
(i always like to mix my tops and bottoms)
i'll probably check out target and VS
to see what new tops i can find.
i'm really loving this one -
sparkles! sparkles! sparkles!

so, if you need me...
i'll be at the pool this weekend

have a great weekend!
what do you have planned?

"i do" wednesday - sweets

we had our menu tasting on monday
and boy oh boy, everything is starting to come together!

growing up i used to help my grandma make italian cookies.
she had her "baking" kitchen in the basement,
it was cold, and the lighting was terrible
but it had everything she needed to get the job done.
my grandma made cookies.
so did my nana...
knot cookies, walnut cookies, sesame cookies , struffoli, ricotta cookies...
i can go on and on.
and my mom continues on the tradition.
it was a no brainer that we absolutely had to have
italian cookies be served at the wedding.

in addition to cookies,
we're going to have a popcorn bar
because the boy LOVES popcorn -
and it's his wedding, too.
i think these sweets will be a great addition
to the ah-mazing 3-tiered cake we'll be serving.

i have a few ideas on how i want the cookies and popcorn displayed
thanks to pinterest -
and i can't wait to put together these little tables
so guests can nosh all night long.

it's wedding season.

oh, hello monday
nice of you to creep up on me like that.

we had our first wedding of the season this weekend
(technically it was our second but we couldn't go to the first one)
and it was fun to see our good friends get married!
it was a long two days
but spending sunday morning with my nieces
and the rest of the day in bed watching movies and eating pizza with my love
was the perfect ending to the weekend.

i don't have much else for you right now
except for a terrible outfit picture from the wedding on saturday.
i've been so bad with taking pictures lately,
i'm starting to really miss it.

goal for this weekend:
take camera out and snap away!

dress {j.crew}
necklace {loft}
heels - not shown {nine west}

are you there?

sorry for the radio silence
are you guys still with me?

i was attacked by my nasty allergies in may
and felt like death up until last week.
we did manage to sneak away for memorial day
to visit my parents in southport, north carolina.

it was a relaxing four days.
we had awesome weather,
hung out on the beach,
golfed (while i napped in the golf cart),
played games like bocci ball, settlers of catan, and phase 10
and was in bed by 10pm every.single.night.

what do you have planned this weekend?
our good friends are getting married on saturday
so this weekend will be filled with extra loads of love.
the boy is a groomsman
and i can't wait to see him in his tux.
it's like i'll be getting a little sneak peak
as to what he'll look like at our own wedding

and with that i will leave you with pictures from our time
in sweet southport.
the cutest little town by the water, ever.

road trip essentials

this is where the movie, safe haven, was filmed.
i haven't seen it. i heard it was lame. true or false?
i would only see it to check out the sites of southport.
