weekend lens.

i love our neighborhood this time of year.

sometimes you just need some cheese.

cheers to our first married christmas!

this is me. running errands and not wearing makeup.
but this is what a typical saturday morning looks like around here.

decided to send out holiday cards last minute.
thank god for 1 hour photo stands and paper source for cute stamps.

tomorrow is my last day of work in 2013!
i'll be celebrating by attending my husband's work holiday party
(can't wait to wear this!)
and on saturday we're going down to richmond with friends!

i hope you have a great weekend!

welcome to my closet.

i'm not one to venture out on black friday
but man, get me behind a computer on cyber monday
and there's no stopping me.

i've definitely done some damange to my wallet lately
but i spent the majority half of the year on such a strict budget
(that's what planning a wedding for 200 will do to ya)
and i felt like i deserved a few new things.
i recently added these things to my closet
and i just love each and every thing so much.
also, to celebrate my official name change
i went ahead and got myself a cute delicate necklace
so i remember my new initial...
just in case i forget.

someone help me and my wallet.

our unBELIZEable honeymoon - part 4.

we had spectacular weather in san pedro -
one day it rained but only for a few hours
and it never got below 80 degrees.
one morning we took a water taxi to caye caulker,
a small island only 5 miles long off the coast of belize
known for its laid-back/hippie lifestyle.
the rest of the trip was spent lounging at the pool,
exploring the town by foot and golf cart (!),
taking a sunset sail,
getting a couples massage,
(my husband is now hooked)
and eating/drinking until our belly's were full.

perfect.

{via}

i love this time of year
when everyone is gearing up for the holidays.
weekends are packed with holiday party after holiday party,
work slows down just a tad,
and christmas music plays all day long.

we had an ice storm come through over the weekend.
as i write this
the trees are still frosted with snow
and icicles are dangling from branches.
i'm wearing my favorite pair of sweatpants
along with my favorite hoodie that my husband got
when he lived in china.
i have a hot cup of english tea next to me
and love, actually is waiting to be watched for the 50th time.

december is kind of perfect.

our unBELIZEable honeymoon - part 3.

from belize city we took a 14 passenger plane
to get to our next resort on the island of san pedro.
it was a quick 15 minute flight
but i was so happy when it was over!

it was a nice change
to go from the rainforest
to being surrounded by turquoise water.

belize is not necessarily known for its beaches.
yes, they are absolutely beautiful
but because the barrier reef is just a few hundred yards offshore
(the second largest in the world!)
there is a lot of sea grass
which makes it difficult to swim in.
we didn't mind because we had two beautiful pools at the resort
and if you know me, i'm not a fan of swimming in the ocean -
SHARKS PEOPLE!
but we got to see the waves
 breaking over the reef
and that's pretty awesome if you ask me!

our resort was right in the middle of town
but still remained very private.
we loved that we were secluded from the outside world
but could still venture outside and experience
  island life with the locals.
(it's very safe there!)
the staff was incredible
and provided us with exceptional service.
it definitely lived up to being the #1 resort in san pedro!

i mean, those views.

tiny airport :)

the view from our beautiful suite

our wedding hashtag was #hollettawedding
and my MIL made me this awesome shirt

sunrises are so much better in belize.

we walked to the local grocery store to get ingredients for breakfast-
huevos rancheros + this view = perfection.

bow-back bathing suit cover-up {victoria's secret}

sunset from our patio
gahhhh.
